MSM’s Strategic Plan and Student Achievement

MSM evaluates student success within the framework of its mission to:

  • Improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities;
  • Increase the diversity of the health professional and scientific workforce;
  • Address primary healthcare needs through programs in education, research and service; with emphasis on people of color and those systematically excluded in urban and rural populations in Georgia, the nation, and the world.

Our strategic plan reinforces these commitments by aligning student achievement with institutional priorities. MSM regularly reviews student achievement data to guide strategic planning, academic support, and program development. When performance falls below established thresholds, we implement targeted interventions to ensure students succeed.

Strategic Alignment – Pillar 3: Preparing Future Health Learners & Leaders
This pillar focuses on cultivating health equity and health justice leaders who dismantle educational, medical, and social impediments to create pathways toward optimal health for all. By embedding student success metrics into this pillar, MSM ensures that every learner is equipped to lead in advancing health equity to achieve health justice.

MSM strives to be recognized as a world-class, dynamic academic health science ecosystem where learners and leaders are empowered to remove impediments, fostering environments that support achievement and innovation.
